Dear Lizzy,
If it’s your first time ever having a guy put his penis in your vagina, then, yes, it’s going to hurt. The initial bleeding that some (but far from all) experience when having sex for the first time is caused by the breaking of the hymen, a thin piece of skin covering the entrance to the vagina. The somewhat fragile hymen is frequently broken before your first time having sex, and this breaking can be caused by a variety of things including horseback riding, using a tampon, masturbating (especially, by putting something into your vagina), etc. The larger the item (i.e. tampon, penis) that goes into your vagina, the larger the opening it will create, which will cause some pain.
Do you know if he ejaculated (i.e. reached his orgasm and squirted semen/sperm into you)? If so, then you’ll definitely want to take a home pregnancy test if you miss your next period. If you live in the U.S., you can pick up an inexpensive, but quite accurate, home pregnancy test at Walmart or even a dollar store. The best time to take the home pregnancy test would be when your next (missed) period should have ended. Since this was your first time having sex, there is a chance that you may skip or have delayed your next period even without becoming pregnant. The home pregnancy test (HPT) will definitely be your best bet in helping you know whether you are pregnant or not.
Best luck!
Hannah

A lot of girls do bleed but not all maybe your hymen was broken during on of the things hannah mentioned or he never penetrated deeply enough to completely break it
