Ally (19) writes: Hannah, Hi. I’m 19 and wondering if i’m pregnant.
The beginning of my last period was 1/3/12 and it ended 1/8/12. My cycle is 28 days. If calculations are correct 1/17/12 would be the day I ovulated. No methods of birth control were used at all. We had sex on the 11th, 13th-15th, 17th-21st, 25th-27th, and on the 31st.
I was supposed to start my period on 1/31/12, but didn’t. I tested the morning of the 31st and again on 2/1/12 because that would make it 2 days late. I still haven’t started my period but I am having weird symptoms:
*burping a lot more
*my back is killing me
*my breasts are sore
*got sick smelling peanut butter when i love peanut butter.
*tired, more like exhausted
BUT, I have had 2 NEG HPTs. Could I still be pregnant?

Here are my thoughts:
Having unprotected sex without any form of birth control that many times at your age would give you very high odds for becoming pregnant (assuming that both you and your partner were fertile).
It may be a bit early for a home pregnancy test to be sensitive enough to detect enough hCG in your urine. I would wait one week and take another home pregnancy test then (first thing in the morning with your concentrated urine).
Your symptoms could be related to the early days of pregnancy or they could be related to something else. Until you take a HPT when a level of hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) would be high enough in your urine to be detected (if you are indeed pregnant), we won’t know for sure.
