Baby_Bitty (23) writes, Hello Hannah, I had a question regarding pregnancy. I was 10 days late on my period (in which, I have had it on time every month prior to this) But, I started my period, had it normally for 2 days then the third day stopped all together then started bleeding the next day then it stopped. Usually my breasts become sore before menustruating but it goes away after my period ends. My breasts have been getting more tender as the days go on and seem to be getting larger..do you think I could be pregnant?
p.s. I am already taking prenatal vitamins because I have been trying to get pregnant.. would this cause sore, tender breasts?

Dear Baby_Bitty,
Have you ever been pregnant before? How long have you been trying to get pregnant? If you’ve been on birth control meds, what type were you taking and how long have you been off them? How frequently do you have sex? When did your “mini period” start?
On a side note, no, the prenatal vitamins shouldn’t have any effect on how your breasts feel.
Best,
Hannah

Hi Hannah. No I have never been pregnant before and have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years now. I have been to the doctor and had pap tests and other tests they same that I am perfectly healthy and that I should have no problems getting pregnant, everything is normal. I havent been on birth control for over 4 years the last time I had birth control I had one shot of depo and decided not to take birth control anymore. My husband and I have sex about every 2-3 days sometimes more. When I did start to bleed it was on Jan 5th and quit by Jan 8th. I have many signs of pregnancy moody, tiredness, breast tenderness, slight cramps at times, lower back pain, and have been throwing up in the morning but not always. I cant get to see my doctor to about the middle of Feb. and have took three HPT’s all neg..one in which I think was defective. Do think that I am pregnant? It is really starting to depress me not knowing and having to sit and wonder. I am starting to feel like a failure.
I’m sorry, Baby_Bitty! I feel for you. Have you both had fertility tests? Sometimes a guy’s sperm count is lower than normal, and a fertility specialist can make recommendations to increase your chances of success. Your symptoms could represent pregnancy symptoms; however, because of the negative pregnancy tests and what appears to be your period early in January, it doesn’t sound like you are pregnant just yet. Keep trying, and I wish you soon success!
