Hannah!! I had sex Aug. 20 sometime in the early morning. Took the plan b Monday late afternoon. Had my period a couple days after. But it hasn’t came back since. I get the cramps like I’m about to start but nothing. Have yet to take a pregnancy test. What should I do?! Do I need to worry?!

Dear Jen,
You still took the pill when it has a fairly high probability of success. When did your previous period start and end? If you had recently had your period before August 20, then the bleeding you experienced the following week could just be withdrawal bleeding (which isn’t uncommon). It doesn’t sound like you’re pregnant, but taking the pregnancy test is going to be your best bet to know for sure. If you were pregnant, by now there should be enough hCG in your body for any home pregnancy test to be accurate. Still, take it first thing in the morning with your concentrated urine for best results.
