dear hannah,
could you recommend the best place to go for an abortion? it would need to be somewhere near Dayton OH. thanks in advance for your help, emily
Dear Emily,
Is this for yourself or for a friend? Is she certain she’s pregnant? Does she know how far along she is?
My recommendation would be to first go to the Women’s Centers of Ohio. You may have heard their ads on the radio or seen some of their billboards. They are a big facility (actually, they have several locations). They offer a lot of free medical services (such as pregnancy testing and pregnancy verification through ultrasounds), and it’s all free.
They don’t actually perform abortions there, but you (or your friend) will be able to make sure she’s really pregnant as well as find out how far along she is. In my experience, it’s best having that knowledge before naively going into a for-profit abortion clinic and taking them at their word for it. After all, they’ve just got their eyes on your $$$.
Here’s their website: www.womenscenterohio.com and phone 937.228.2222.
Keep us posted!

The Women’s Med Center at E Stroop Rd in Kettering is the Abortion office. They do the procedure there. The place listed in the previous response is NOT an abortion provider.

Exactly, Aeran. Which is why I always recommend girls first go to a not-for-profit pregnancy center to get a free ultrasound and to seek free options advice BEFORE going to a for-profit abortion clinic. The latter is just out for your money, and why should I trust their advice if it is really all about their bottom line? After all, this is really about my body and my baby. I personally would rather go first to someplace that wasn’t out for my money, where I could hear a couple different alternate opinions, and then later I could make my decision on my own.
